Mainstream Media Finally “Gets” A Trump Joke

Trump Laughs

In an astounding display of awareness, the Mainstream Media finally understood nuance in President Trump’s voice when he used it to make a joke. While addressing his senior staffers before their swearing in, the President told them how President Obama had left him a letter in the Oval Office. President Trump went on to say how thankful he was for the letter and the thoughtfulness behind it. He followed up by changing his voice’s tone and cadence to deliver a funny jab at the Press, saying he wouldn’t tell the them what was in the letter, getting a laugh from the group:

“I just went to the Oval Office and found this beautiful letter from President Obama,” … “It was really very nice of him to do that and we will cherish that. We will keep that and we won’t even tell the press what’s in that letter.”

In an editorial turn-around, The Hill is reporting President Trump made a joke, instead of lambasting him with complaints he was “breaking protocol” or some other hogwash. The Mainstream Media has been pretending they don’t know the difference between the President’s literal and figurative uses of speech. Perhaps this is a sign they will stop using such a dishonest reporting tactic.

Scott Adams: Persuade ISIS On Their Level

Today Scott Adams has a great post talking about dealing with ISIS from a persuasion perspective.  He discusses how pacing and leading isn’t an option because we can’t even get to the pacing stage with terrorists.

In order to influence terrorists you have to get to the deep-level, which requires a closeness and trust. As Scott says:

If you have been reading my blog for the past year, allow me to translate what I just said into persuasion language. What the former head of the CIA is saying is that we don’t have the opportunity for “pacing and leading” the terrorists because we are too different from the start. To influence people at the “deep” level it helps to first become like them, to build trust and credibility. Later perhaps you can lead them to a better place, once they recognize you as one of their own.

Scott’s article goes on to talk about how a President Trump will get deep level. In fact Trump has already begun.

Scott Adams: The Election Fog is Starting to Wear Off

trump adams

Scott “Dilbert” Adams has another great post about the hallucinogenic fog that we all just lived through. He explains our primitive brains didn’t evolve to clearly understand reality, and we each live inside our own unique “movie” of life. This can account for an election that either brought the American Spring or Hitler 2.0.

As the fog of hallucination begins to lift, he starts to breakdown the contradictions:

If you REALLY believe Hitler just came to power in the United States, why would you stop protesting? What are you doing that is more important than stopping Hitler?????????

So why did the protests fizzle out? I find this question fascinating. So should you

Scott gives a long list of evidence showing Trump is not very Hitler like– which should calm those still tripping out. He points out Trump actions:

7. Trump keeps meeting with people that opposed him, and both sides seem pleased with those meetings. That isn’t very Hitlerish.

8. Trump is non-interventionist. That doesn’t seem very Hitlerish.

Its a great read. Find Scott’s full post here.

Along with his blog archives on persuasion, you can find that and more on his blog Scott Adams’ Blog.

Comey Implies Obama Is Pushing the False Russian Hack Story

President Obama and James Comey

Newsmax is reporting President-Elect Trump and FBI head James Comey spoke on the phone. They talked about there being no clear evidence showing Russia influenced the election result. Comey told Trump that DNI James Clapper agrees with him, but CIA head James Brennen does not. Comey implied that was probably because of President Obama:

The only member of the U.S. intelligence community who was ready to assert that the Russians sanctioned the hacking was John Brennan, the director of the CIA, according to sources who were briefed on Comey’s conversations with Trump.

“And Brennan takes his marching orders from President Obama,” the sources quoted Comey as saying.

Comey feels the story being pushed is an effort delegitimize Trump’s presidency by Democrats. While the FBI has been aware the Russians might cause mischief around the election, Comey told Trump it was unclear if anything happened or why Russia would prefer one candidate over the other.

WikiLeaks Releases the Yemen Files

Wikileaks The Yemen Files

This morning, Wikileaks has published The Yemen Files. Their statement in full is below and you can find the Documents here and the Emails here.

An investigative subreddit has been created at

25 November, 2016

Today, Friday 25th November, WikiLeaks releases The Yemen Files.

The Yemen Files are a collection of over 500 documents from the United States embassy in Sana’a, Yemen. Comprising of over 200 emails and 300 PDFs, the collection details official documents and correspondence pertaining to the Office for Military Cooperation (OMC) located at the US embassy. The collection spans the period from 2009 until just before the war in Yemen broke out in earnest during March 2015. This time covers both Hillary Clinton’s term as Secretary of State (2009-2013) and the first two years of Secretary John Kerry.

Julian Assange said: “The war in Yemen has produced 3.15 million internally displaced persons. Although the United States government has provided most of the bombs and is deeply involved in the conduct of the war itself reportage on the war in English is conspicuously rare.”

Yemen is of significant strategic interest as Yemen controls a narrow choke point to the Red Sea and the Suez Canal through which 11% of the world’s petroleum passes each day. In addition Yemen borders Saudi Arabia (to the north) and Oman (to the east) and has access to the Arabian Sea through which another 20% of the world’s petroleum passes from the Strait of Homuz (including the oil of Saudi Arabia and Iran). Saudi Arabia seeks to control a port in Yemen to avoid the potential constriction of its oil shipments by Iran along the Straight of Homuz or by countries which can control its other oil shipment path along the Red Sea.

The Yemen Files offer documentary evidence of the US arming, training and funding of Yemeni forces in the years building up to the war. The documents reveal, among other things, procurement of many different weapon types: aircrafts, vessels, vehicles, proposals for maritine border security control and Yemeni procurement of US biometric systems.

US presence remained in the country until February 2015 when the US closed its embassy due to the continuing unrest between different factions in the country. The war broke out a month later.
